Joseph G. Greenberg, President & CEO
Prior to founding Alta in 1999, Mr. Greenberg worked as an exploration geologist for Shell Oil Company and Edge Petroleum Company. Mr. Greenberg received a B.S. in Geology and Geophysics from Yale University in 1983, and a Masters in Geological Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin in 1986. He has twenty-seven years of diversified experience in domestic oil and gas exploration. Mr. Greenberg is currently the Board Chair of the YES Prep Public Schools, a system of high performing 6-12 grade schools serving over 6,000 low income children in Houston.
Mr. Grigsby received a B.A. degree in Geology from the University of Colorado in 1976, and a M.S. degree in Geology from the University of Houston in 1990. He has thirty-five years of diversified experience in domestic oil, gas and mineral exploration. Mr. Grigsby joined Union Carbide Corporation in 1976 where he successfully explored for Uranium, Base and Precious Metals throughout the western United States. In 1983, Mr. Grigsby left the mineral exploration industry and joined Edge Petroleum Corporation to conduct domestic oil and gas exploration. Mr. Grigsby's work led to six significant new field discoveries creating in excess of $100,000,000 gross reserve value. Mr. Grigsby joined Alta Resources, L.L.C. in January of 2004. Mr. Grigsby is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the Houston Geological Society.
Mrs. McCarthy received a B.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2000 where she was the recipient of the Robert Whiting Graduate of the Year Award. Prior to joining Alta Resources, L.L.C. in May of 2006, she was a Senior Drilling Engineer for Burlington Resources. Mrs. McCarthy is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and is past Chair of the Drilling and Completion Technical Committees for the SPE Annual Technical Conference.
Mr. Steeg joined Alta Resources, L.L.C. in April 2012. Mr. Steeg has seven years of previous experience in energy investment banking, most recently with Citigroup and Jefferies. He received an M.B.A. in 2003 and B.A. in economics in 1998, both from the University of Texas at Austin.
